Key Lime

Key Lime

When whispers couldn’t count,
Dream for a while:
Brimming bottles of rosa vino
We could have drank on
The Beirut table.
Glasses filled by heaven,
These clouds are able.

It’s your incense, my candles,
The Oriental rug, and your
Smooth leather sandals
As you dance and shrug.

Every day takes more,
I take all I can stand
I bled on the concrete and I wish I felt.
I know the sunrise and sunset comes
In the frozen land, but it’s here I melt.

Your spot an inch below your ear,
My favorite song for you,
Our funny faces
We know in the dark
Sitting on a bench in the park.

I sit and sip on key lime soda,
So, I wait for the dawn
To reach my home. The quiet lights in the sky
They sing late this song as I lay me down in the
frosty lawn.

Poem from the book Beneath the Dreaming Tree

Robado de la Luna or Stolen from the Moon

Robado de la Luna

Robó un beso de la luna
sentido el calor de ella
conversaciόn con el sol.
Que era esta conversaciόn
reflexionό sobre mí
a través de ella propia manera,
que era su eco de
sus palabras de luz y
vida que vierte abajo
la piel de mi cara.
Traté de recolectar
en las palmas de
mis manos y llevar
a la vez a mis labios,
porque yo sobrevivo de este
nectar de los cuerpos astronόmicos,
fruta astronόmico cuya
jugos permiten la vista y el color.

Stolen from the Moon

Stole a kiss from the moon
felt the warmth from her
conversation with the sun.
It was this conversation
she reflected on me
through her own way,
it was her echo of
his words of light and
life that poured down
the skin of my face.
I tried to collect
in the palms of
my hands and bring
at once to my lips,
because I survive off this
nectar of astronomic bodies,
astronomic fruit whose
juices allow sight and color.
