LOS PICOS, LAS RAÍCES Y LAS CADENAS O THE BEAKS, THE ROOTS, AND THE CHAINS

Artista Cyril Rolando

THE BEAKS, THE ROOTS, AND THE CHAINS

The beaks of the flying birds
Hold pieces of the heavens and the clouds,
While the trees drop the dreams
Of next spring in seeds and their roots
Seek deep with a carnal passion
The primal parts of the earth that trembles.
The birds control the heavens
 And become paradigms,
The trees rule in ways over earth
 And become archetypes.
Paradigms and archetypes
 Form links in a chain
And my heart begins
 to writhe under their burden,
But sometimes, it is best to dance in chains…
To feel the rhythmic music
Of the passion swirling with
The nebula of ideas emerging, transforming
In the night with faint glimmers of light
Until the eyes behold the plethora of delight,

Sometimes, chains may be b—r—o—k—e— n …

LAS SOMBRAS DE LOS SÍMBOLOS o Shadows of Symbols

Artista Cyril Rolando

Shadows of Symbols

He is with me when I glance in
the mirror, not in the reflection,
but there with his science, logic,
philosophy, and mathematics.
All of them aimed at me and at
times aimed at the world with focus.
He is there as I write this now
helping to craft the lines as though
they are rows of corn or wheat,
but the lines are the symbols of music and
love echoing within my mind and
dwelling within my heart.
The flux is constant while some things
find a kind of rest in change,
perhaps he will always change.

UNA HEBRA DE SEDA o A Silken Strand

Artista Cyril Rolando

A Silken Strand

The heat of the day
Beneath the dreaming tree,
The branches and leaves
Between the rays of the sun and
The earth, while shadows
Chase the flowing clouds.
I see a single, silken strand and
From it I start to hear
The passion of her music,
I listen with my ear,
I hear her with my mind,
I hear her with my heart and
 I listen with my life…
I want to see with her eyes,
I desire to listen through her ears,
I want to touch with her touch,
I wish to swim through her sea
And feel the rhythm of her heart.
