I have been working on art for my sibling for the holidays. My sibling has a horse named Misty and likes horses....So here is Misty ready in time for the holidays :)

Notes From Pieces During The Week

1. "You belong" micro-poem, was a digital painting. Tools used: paintbrushes, blending, effects, a silk overlay and rendering software.

2. "Synergy" micro-poem, was digital photo manipulation art. Tools used: physical hot gun glue, photography, paintbrushes, blending, effects, overlays, and rendering software.

3. "Woman" micro-poem and portrait of model, was digital painting. Tools used: vectors, paintbrushes, blending, effects, and rendering software. I started with natural skin tones as shown in the sneak-preview, and I was painting at about 3 am Sunday morning and I had a moment of inspiration. I was not planning on having poetry with the model, but the inspiration came with the micro-poem which is a universal statement about all women, not just the model. The inspiration took the portrait in a completely different direction away from natural skin tones to something a little more imaginative and different in order to express the inspiration adequately.

OFF THE WALL THIS WEEK

Oil pastel portrait of Miles Davis playing a trumpet painted from the cover of the album Kind of Blue. This portrait was finger blended and signed and dated 2003. At that time, I used to paint and then cut away to complete the portrait, or sometimes I would experiment on the rest of the paper and then cut that away after I had learned what I wanted to learn. I have included a pen in the picture for size scale.
